If you are searching for your ancestor's records as part of an Irish citizenship application, we may be able to help.

Irish Documentation

Typically the Irish document required is a grandparent’s birth certificate, although other Irish records may be needed in specific cases. Information on qualification criteria, application process and necessary documentation is available from the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade.

Additional Information

Records of later life (some of which may be required for an application) often include important information on background, which can help in the process of tracing a birth record.

We can search for birth records using the Index of Births held at the GRO Research Room in Dublin.

Once a relevant record is identified a certified copy (suitable for a citizenship application) can be taken up.
